Description
The scabbard is made of wood and covered in leather which is stitched together at the back.
Most of the fur (probably antelope) has worn away due to it being regularly used. The blade is corroded.

The sword handle and the two figures that were originally affixed to the front of the scabbard are particularly unusual as they are clearly of Fang design. The handle is made of wood and has a shiny dark brown patina. It is split along the vertical axis.

The two figures show strong traces of usage. The original patina has almost completly been flaked off.

Tikar kings wore such a sword to demonstrate their power. Lit.: – “African Forms” – Ginsberg – 2000 – Page 183
