| The Handa or Katanga cross was used as an object of exchange and was still being used in the DR Congo till around 1920. They were produced by pouring molten copper into a mould in the sand. Used in the province of Katanga (originally named Shaba) in south east Congo, which is rich in copper and numerous valuable minerals including gold. silver and uranium. |
