| Description |
 |
A very old and very weathered Moba ancestral figure.
You can still recognize the basic form. It has been damaged by termites, the two legs have been mounted on a heavy, modern metal stand. Due to the design, the ritual use, the direct spiritual connection of the sculpture, as well as its size and relatively abstract shape, leads one to presume that the figure was probably the posession of a very large family or a clan. The figure provides contact to the ancestors and played an active role in the support of general well-being of the family. |
