First step:

Simply send us an e-mail including a short description of the piece (no more than 75 words) plus information regarding country, ethnic group, the artist if known, material, size, weight (important for calculating the postage) and if possible the age and provenance. In addition we require at least one photo so that we can gain an initial impression of what the piece looks like.

Our full service:

Description of the item, professional photography plus high quality translations (no computer translations) of the German text are all services that are offered by shikra.

Commission *

25%

FOR ITEMS OVER €150:

included in the services are professional photography, description of the piece and the translation.

As it is not always practicable to have the photographs produced on our premises you can deliver us your own photographs as long as they are of an acceptable quality.

30%

FOR ITEMS UNDER €150:

As we take the same amount of care for all pieces of art, we are obliged to take slightly more commission for objects under €150.

Visit shikra:

If you live around the area of Hamburg in Germany you can always call by at the combined premises of shikra and its partner docuserve. However please make an appointment first to avoid disappointment.

*As we pride ourselves on the standard of photography and the quality of the German and English text it will be left to the discretion of our staff to decide whether photographs and text are of an acceptable standard.
