| Description |
|
A finely carved female figure from the Baule in the Ivory Coast. Around the waist is a form of loincloth as well as orange and red glass-beads. An neckalce with an symbol similar to the Akan hangs around the neck. Warm, deark brown patina. The face, hands and feet have been very carefully carved.
Small crack on side of face as well as betweeen the feet.
The figure is mounted on a base. |
