Rare bronze armilla from the Kru in Liberia.
There seems to be few hard facts about these so-called bracelets. Legend has it that they represent a water spirit which has the power to stop war, create new villages, help fertility and cure diseases.
Collected around 1970 in Liberia
The mould wasn't 100% perfect so that the clay core can be partially seen (see photos 4 and 5).
