An impressive work from Tibetan craftsmen: a human skull decorated for ritual use.
The top of the skull is hinged, the inside of the skull is decorated with silver. The surface is adorned with an incised design; an attachment is fixed in the middle, the rim is decorated with reproductions of small skulls made of silver. These can also be found at the upper rim (some are missing) as well as at the back of the skull. The sides of the skull are decorated with representations of dragons. All the features as well as the ears are made of silver. The back part of the skull stands on a "metal base". Very fine and precise work! |
