Description |
 |
Mounted on a metal base.
This type of bochio was probably used to protect either a community, where it would have placed in the centre of the village, or was placed in front of a house. They are seen as guardian figures that keep away evil spirits.
Heavy wood with a dark patina encrusted with a light coating of camwood powder and kaolin. The female figure rises from the fragment of a post that would have been buried in the ground. This explains the orange colour of the lower section. |
